Maybe start times are different for folks in other time zones, I don't know. This is another one that requires either commitment or a wonky sleep schedule (which I have!). If you do this early enough in the day and check back later (8-12h?) there will be a second free ad-play ticket available. I don't know the exact specifics for this one, but you always get a spare play by watching an ad after you use all 4 tickets. I used this strategy for an event I absolutely suck at (except for that one track) and got 400+ without spending a single extra gem or ticket. If there are 12 tracks at 3m each then there are 33m between any one track and itself. Each track time-window is set (usually 2 or 3 minutes) so you can just calculate how many minutes to set a timer before your preferred track comes up. I'll try to post the list for the next event if they're not.įind a track you excel on and then set a timer so you play that repeatedly. That being said, get a list of the tracks for the current event, either by documenting each yourself (set a timer for each one) or maybe they're online somewhere. Some of these might require more work or commitment than you're willing to do and that's ok, the game is supposed to be fun(!) so do as you please. If an ad is not loading or taking forever, try killing the app and load it back up.Ĭompile the list of tracks for an advantage. It's a real bummer when you expect to double but the doubler button doesn't load because an ad is not downloaded. If you plan to double your score by playing an ad, before you play a track go to the Chests section of the Shop and ensure the "Free" (ad) chest is enabled and ready to be tapped (but don't tap it!). While there might as well tap the first 1000 coin prize as it's free!Įnsure the score-doubler is loaded via the free-ad chest. You may like to enter as early as possible on the first day so you'll be free to play early on in subsequent days. If you enter at 8am the first day, tickets will replenish at 8am for each subsequent day. Tickets refill starting 24 hours after you enter the event. By that standard even the most mediocre player can get all those chests paying a fraction of those gems in ticket refills. If you look in the shop you'll find that the Rare, Epic, & Legendary chests cost 200, 400, & 2000 gems respectively. The prizes can vary, but always include several chests. The latter two panels are where Skylum has shown off its AI features. In addition to this, Luminar also has the additional Creative panel and Portrait panel. In Luminar’s Essential panel, you get to see most of the adjustment tools for exposure, details, and noise, along with some AI features like AI Enhance and AI Structure. In most ways, the interface in Luminar is quite similar to that of Lightroom. If you’re looking for the best photo editing computer, check out our Best Computer for Photo Editing here. The inclusion of Photoshop and 20GB cloud space makes it totally worth it for them. Professionals, on the other hand, shouldn’t mind paying for Lightroom’s subscription. If you are a casual photographer who doesn’t want to spend a lot of time editing your photos, Luminar can be a good deal hands-down. At the moment, for the amount you spend for a 7-months subscription of Lightroom, you could own Luminar for life. Looking at the pricing for these two products, it’s clear that Lightroom means business. The most affordable plan for Lightroom starts at US$9.99 per month which includes Photoshop, 20GB cloud storage, and free updates. If you are a casual photographer, you will realize that Lightroom is not so cheap. However, do keep in mind that when the next version of Luminar rolls out, you will need to pay a discounted amount if you want to update. Priced at US$ 67, Luminar is quite a budget-friendly option. Lightroom, on the other hand, is available to use under prepaid annual plans. You can purchase Luminar right away off the shelf by paying one time. The first difference that you’ll immediately notice between the two software is their pricing model. Yes, it may be virtually impossible to be a master of the software, but one thing is for sure: it is a near-complete package for professional needs. Being the top player in the market for such a long time, its experience of working with professionals still gives it an edge over Luminar. Lightroom on the other hand still has some advanced tricks up its sleeve to boast about. And two, if you’re looking for an alternative to Lightroom that’s more affordable, does not have a steep learning curve, and helps you get the job done more conveniently, then you can check out if Luminar is the right choice for you. For one, it has challenged Adobe which will undoubtedly force Adobe to innovate. The success of Skylum Luminar AI is a great thing for us photographers. Skylum is another player that specializes in developing photo editing software and one of their products – Luminar, has been gaining quite some popularity, especially since it won the EISA “Best Product of the Year” award in the “Photo Software” category. Lightroom and Photoshop have thus been the goto software of choice for photographers. When it comes to editing photos, Adobe has been ruling the industry for quite some time now. You are in the correct place then. However, it costs $20 for the base app, plus $20 per year for the Pro subscription Considering this, I’d suggest simply opting for Eas圜anvas. If you want screen extension functionality, you’ll have to pony up an extra $9 for TwoMon. There’s no recurring subscription fee here. If all you want is an alternative to a Wacom digitizer, Eas圜anvas costs just $15 by itself. With so many similarities, it then comes down to price more than anything else. Both hand in comparable performance for sketching and writing. I suspect stylus users would have some trouble adapting, especially when migrating from a dedicated drawing tablet. But no amount of hardware gets rid of the base level of input lag present in both apps. However, laptops and entry-level desktops might just be too laggy for drawing and writing, though. If you’ve got a high-end rig, you’ll have a very usable experience. Real-life performance, though, is strongly dependent on your host system’s configuration. The wired USB setup is a huge step up, performance-wise from remote desktop solutions like Splashtop. Both Duet and Eas圜anvas support tilt and pressure sensitivity, together with palm recognition. The bottom line here is that both apps deliver comparable performance. If lag weren’t such a problem, this would allow for a really good approximation of a real drawing or writing experience. For stylus owners, pressure and tilt sensitivity are equally present in both Eas圜anvas and Duet. This was especially so considering the iPad Pro’s bigger 10.5 inch display. While I don’t own a capacitive stylus, I found that the writing experience was reasonable, even with finger touch. I’ve used stylus-based devices for quite some time. Some amount of input lag is always presentĪs a writing and drawing tools, both Duet and Eas圜anvas offered comparable performance. It’s always been a bit of an inconvenience getting these onto a computer and I’ve lost some work that way. I often handwrite first drafts and stray thoughts. I can’t draw much apart from simple stick figures. Both Duet and Eas圜anvas delivered what I’d consider usable performance for drawing and writing. Paired with the premium Ryzen-based system, results were comparable between the two. Amouage Ubar is available in 50 (250) and 100 ml (285. I suppose it isn't likely that we'll see an Ubar Eau Lgre, but such a thing would be very welcome especially in the original 15 ml. My friend called the Ubar first to confirm if there was a cover fee and the person that answered the phone said no. It was an impromptu decision while eating dinner earlier that night in College Park. You can get app flashes, progress in the taskbar, and a better idea of what apps aren't currently working. The new Ubar is arguably a better scent than the old, but it isn't one I'd be likely to reach for as often as I would have reached for the original. I went to the Ubar with my friends to celebrate my bestie's birthday, Friday night. The taskbar version doesn't fit in quite as well, being a matte black colour, but it provides more of the app's features. Ubar (2009) is a popular perfume by Amouage for women and was released in 2009. It is cheaper than some of the other Amouage scents, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bargain. The floral notes are not long lasting, but the sandalwood base (my favorite part anyway) lasts for hours. The dock version is somewhat staid and blocky by default compared to the macOS Dock, but it still has rounded edges and an appropriate grey colour. Ubar is available as an Eau de Toilette only. UBar's biggest feature is in the name: it provides the option of using a taskbar instead of a dock. uBar attempts to resolve those issues without creating any of its own. Additionally, clinicians can have confidence that their recipients will be hearing without the need for any interaction with the sound processor with Auto-on enabled by default means. Marian Jones: Recipients have a diverse set of needs, but they all want their sound processor to be seamless to use. The sensitivity of the accelerometer has been finely tuned to ensure that the recipient experience is as simple as possible while at the same time preserving battery life.Īudiology Online: What does Auto-on mean for clinicians? For recipients? This feature is facilitated due to the presence of an accelerometer which detects movement of the sound processor. Marian Jones: While we have Auto-on for the Nucleus 7 Sound Processor (by connecting the battery to the processor), the Auto-on feature for Kanso 2 is activated by picking up the Kanso 2 Sound Processor and placing it on the implant. The new connector for programming cable and retention safety lines is much easier to attach and remove, and the microphone cover makes changing simple and less reliant on clinician support.Īudiology Online: Why is Auto-on such an innovative feature? This can help assess the quality of the incoming audio signal when checking or troubleshooting the sound processor, which is perfect for instances where recipients may not reliably report sound quality changes. Parents and caregivers can now monitor the microphone input of Kanso 2 Sound Processor using the new Sound Check feature, accessible via the Nucleus Smart App. Battery health can be viewed within the ‘Settings’ menu of the Nucleus Smart App and in Custom Sound® Pro fitting software following battery life estimation. This measurement allows clinicians and recipients to identify when the battery is functioning as expected or when it needs to be replaced. Battery health is the ability of the battery to store charge. This is due to a new fuel gauge that was incorporated in the Kanso 2 Sound Processor, which also monitors battery health. For the Kanso 2 Sound Processor, the battery level offers more specificity and displays a percentage. They are also able to place the sound processor in the Home Charger with the Safety Line and Softwear Pad (if required) still attached.įor Nucleus 7 Sound Processors, battery level is displayed as four bars within the Nucleus Smart App. ++ The Home Charger is the primary charging unit and offers a convenient way for recipients to care for their Kanso 2 Sound Processor by wirelessly charging and drying the device at the same time. The Kanso 2 Sound Processor features a powerful, integrated rechargeable battery with most recipients able to achieve a minimum of 18 hours of battery life for all-day hearing. 1 We received an overwhelming response for the need for a rechargeable battery. Marian Jones: Earlier I mentioned that we sought feedback from clinicians and recipients, which included our first generation Kanso Sound Processor. ~ The Sound Check feature also provides caregivers with the ability to monitor the microphone input and share the recordings with their audiologist and/or early intervention support team.Īudiology Online: How do the built-in features of Kanso 2 Sound Processor support new ways for clinicians to deliver care to their patients? Pediatric recipients and caregivers: The Kanso 2 provides an IP68 water resistance without the Aqua+, providing confidence for bath time and water play. The ability to use the Nucleus Smart App can enhance their communication needs as well as monitor the status of their sound processor, especially the battery status. Adult recipients: Having an OTE option with full connectivity, like direct streaming and phone calls, is most beneficial to adult recipients. They all received the Information guides and none had difficulty setting up the sound processor, charging or pairing. The take-home use for the clinical trial occurred during COVID-19 restrictions, requiring us to send the trial Kanso 2 Sound Processors directly to recipients’ homes. It allows the clinician to spend less time on processor instruction. Clinicians: In addition to the vital benefits of the Nucleus® 7 Sound Processor and an off-the-ear (OTE) sound processor, the added feature of the button-less Kanso 2 Sound Processor is easy to use, with a fully integrated rechargeable battery, Auto-on/Auto-off and easy charging via the Home Charger.Marian Jones: There are various benefits for clinicians and both adult and pediatric recipients. Audiology Online: What feature of the Kanso 2 Sound Processor do you feel is most beneficial to clinicians and why? Adult recipients? Pediatric patients? My last word is for Sega: If you really wanted a Mickey Mouse game to update, could you update Fantasia? It wasn't the best game ever (even though it looked pretty), and with today's standards (exercised in this game for example), it could truly shine. I would recommend playing the demo and having a go of it, and see what you think. No, its not the ultimate edition of a long-loved classic, but its a quality, passionate tribute. But if the game can be a mite unfair, and if it is over too fast, then its a quality ride for sure, and one that has been treated with a lot of due care and attention, and the platforming action (and challenges!!) will keep you coming back in the short-term. The game is far too short, and any challenge to be found is in the initially cumbersome control method, which does need tweaking. The gameplay is where the game falls-down a little. To me, it not only evoked the care and attention to detail that belongs perhaps to the DIsney universe, but more to the fact that I was reminded of the other Mickey Mouse games on Megadrive, Fantasia and World of Illusion!! The graphics are gorgeous beyond belief, almost hand drawn and animated it seems, and the music and sound effects compliment them it all melts together, and I couldn't help to be pulled-in. Perhaps, like Flashback as well of recent, these aren't remakes, but more realisations, and ultimately attempted transformations of a classic, and in a way trying to make it appeal to a modern audience? Ultimately they both fail, as the originals are still classics, and if you really want to sample them, go to the originals!! But still, I have to say that I felt spoilt with this latest update. The original Castle of Illusion is a wonderful game (on both Master System and Megadrive), and when I heard that Sega were publishing a The original Castle of Illusion is a wonderful game (on both Master System and Megadrive), and when I heard that Sega were publishing a remake, I honestly wondered what it was going to be like. I wanted easy access to the roof, so I decided to break a window and climb out onto the balcony. For example, I got into the office by stacking boxes and quickly looted the room. The room is connected to every other part of the building, and gaining access through one route doesn’t guarantee being able to use the others. Gloomwood deftly evades this fate by making your approach to the office tactically interesting. This would be novel, for a while, until the artifice of the level design set in. “You can tackle this problem in any way,” the game would remind you, before presenting you with identical outcomes for each approach. In a lesser game, this would be empty player expression for player expression’s sake. The office is connected to the rest of the facility by a locked door connected to the building’s central stairway, a closed window onto the roof, a chain which runs from the ground floor to the office through a boarded up entrance, and a wall which can be climbed by stacking boxes from the other side of the room. In an early part of the first level there is a loft office with a safe, some lore, and a handful of resources. Routes you become intimately familiar with if you, like me, didn’t manage to find a revolver for three hours. The levels are relatively large, with half-a-dozen routes through just about every part of the map. It even uses a similar early 3D aesthetic to the original Thief, which has become something of a signature for New Blood Interactive. Gloomwood’s Thief DNA is obvious guards are hearty and hit hard, you move slowly by default and slower when you mask your footsteps, and the game begins with you finding a ring that indicates how well lit (and vulnerable) you are. One that other developers have been chasing for years. Its clear, light based sneaking mechanics, excellent level design, and distinctive, terrible combat have cemented it in the minds of many as the quintessential stealth game. The game, which just entered early access, has been pitched by developers, influencers, and journalists alike as “ Thief with guns.” Since its release in 1997, Thief has been a gold-standard for first-person stealth. I absolutely love Ecamm, these are just some ideas that I get from using the software. Right now you can't monitor a scene without it broadcasting. For example, there are times when I start the show and there is a intro video going, but it would be cool if I could see myself on camera before I switch to that scene. It would be great if there was a way to view a different scene independently while the stream is going. A way a different person could screen them first. This might be really complicated and I'm not even sure if it's possible, but it would be awesome if there was a way to communicate with callers during the show and screen them before the host puts them on. I would love it if the software could keep a hard copy of the chat during live sessions. It would be cool if the software generated how much money each user has spent on the channel similar to the feature on OBS. I would like to have more than 1 audio monitor option. When using the audio monitor feature, the latency is really bad, making it impossible for a guest to talk and hear themselves at the same time because of the delay. Member Super Chats should be highlighted just like regular Super Chats. There's nothing more important than being able to run the show easily while also performing and Ecamm is by far the easiest. While on the one hand it's quite powerful because it lets you create unique live streaming experiences for your audience, it also represents a challenge because, despite keyboard shortcuts being available, things can sometimes get a little confusing if you have several camera scenes – I wonder if there would be a more intuitive way to do this.Įase of use is top notch. I mention Ecamm Live's "camera scenes" as one of my favorite features the platforms brings to the table. This enables you to switch to different scenes and camera angles, which is ideal when you're discussing something, you'd like to showcase something or you feel like putting emphasis on a point you're making. you on camera, a slide or video in the background, you on camera with a lower-third banner being displayed). One feature I'm a fan of is the ability to set up different "camera scenes" (e.g. It may take a moment to learn everything that the platforms lets you do but there's a lot. things have definitely changed in the last couple of years! I really like the fact that Ecamm Live has become a sort of "Swiss army knife" for pretty much all things live streaming, and it now enables you to stream on several social media platforms, including YouTube, LinkedIn and Restream. I have been using Ecamm Live for years, when the platform was exclusively working with Facebook Live. |
